Hi, I’m Steve.
I’m a husband, dad, entrepreneur, four-term Salinas City Councilman and consultant in the emerging agricultural technology space. I’ve lived and worked in Salinas for more than 20 years.
My public service includes school board, city council and a variety of city, county and state commissions. This includes several regional Joint Power Agencies (JPAs) governing electricity, air quality and transportation. I know what it takes to grow businesses, improve infrastructure, and keep our communities safe.
Under my leadership, hundreds of affordable homes have been built in Salinas, with many more on the way. Salinas has also increased police patrols in needed areas and has put an emphasis on preventing crimes before they occur by providing after school programs to teenagers, giving them alternatives to hanging out on the streets. I pioneered a city-wide app so people could log issues with sidewalks and city property directly with Public Works.
More than anything else, I work to be accessible and make your city council work for you. This is your city – your voice matters!
